About the course
Our training course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills and knowledge required to operate a wheeled front end loader. On completion of this training course, participants who attain this unit of competency will be competent to operate a Wheeled Front End Loader.
This comprehensive two-day course includes both theory and practical components and can be completed at our civil site or at yours.

- Chain of responsibility
- Isolation requirements
- Site procedures and policies
- Conducting prestart and start up checks prior to operating and shutdown procedures
- Driving and operating the Front End Loader
- Stripping and spreading various materials
- Backfilling
- Loading, cutting/boxing
- Mixing materials
- Lifting and carrying materials
- Loading tip truck with materials
- Assisting with loading and unloading FEL onto a float.
- Parking and securing wheeled front end loader
- Civil construction terminology
Course Inclusions
- Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer / assessors who have resource industry currency and supported by a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
- Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.
- 2 days of training. Up to 6 trainees per course. A typical course runs from 07:30-15:30
- Be at least 16 years of age
- For our site, we supply all the equipment for the course.
- If we come to you, it’s the student’s responsibility to have a front-end loader and site to operate the Wheel Loader on.

Students who are assessed as competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Australian Operator Training (RTO 41351).
